Lavandou
Le Lavandou
A former fishing village, Le Lavandou, is fairly built-up but centrally located and lively both in the day and at night. The quai Gabriel Peri and connecting waterfront streets have plenty of places to enjoy an aperitif as the sun sets over the yachts. It is a short distance away from some of the more remote beaches and you can also take a boat from here for a day trip to Iles d'Hyeres.

The gardens of the Domaine, established on 7 hectares, were created to evoke the regions of the world that are influenced by a Mediterranean climate. Four additional landscapes, called ”guest landscapes” present regions that have a slightly more arid climate, such as Mexico, or more tropical variants, such as Subtropical Asia, Subtropical America and New Zealand.

Key Sites
Key Sites
Although we have not personally visited these sites we have heard great reviews of:
Fort de Bregancon
The official retreat of the President of France since 1968, the Fort de Bregancon is a medieval fortress, located 35 metres (115 ft) above sea level on an islet off the French Mediterranean coast, connected by a short causeway to Bormes-les-Mimosas.
Les Isles d'Or
Lying offshore from the coast between Toulon to Hyeres, the Iles d’Hyeres are also known as the Iles d’Or (Islands of Gold) – not just due to their mica-rich rock but also for the golden beaches that fringe their forested hinterland. Consisting of three islands Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Ile du Levant you can take a 45mins boat from Le Lavandou to visit the islands.
